Our Family's Crazy Christmas Card

Our Family's Crazy Christmas Card

Links are wonderful.

Thank goodness for my daughter Sarah for keeping my Blog up to date. But to truly find out about whats happening in our family check out the awesome Blogs of my kids Tony, Harmony, Nick and Sarah (Jeff''s is under construction)--especially Sarah's Blog because she started it all for the rest of us; plus she loves taking pics. You'll find out why I love my 'LINKS'.

All their hard work is finally recognized...

This is Sarah, just breaking into my Dad's blog again. I knew that he wouldn't post about winning the yard of the month in their city, so I thought I would brag for them. My parents have the most beautiful yard and they spend a lot of time working on it. Their garden is gorgeous and they recently added a playground for the kids. It is one of the greatest places in the world. This is a little collage I put together of just a few of my favorite plants. Click on it to make it bigger. Good job Mom & Dad!

Over the river and through the woods...

Brother Tony, Colton, Trevor, D. J., Luke and I camped this week in Tony's roomy trailer in the forest above Wallsburg. We went on Four-wheelers on trails alone some beautiful skyline ridges. The kids loved the river crossings (which we just 'had to' repeat recrossing a half-dozen times). We saw some fawns and their mother, Indian paintbrush, the Big Dipper (and the North Star of course) and 100+ year old ponderosa pines. We had fun reading the old carvings in the bark of the aspen trees and we watched the kids continual poking of sticks in the fire which elicited an immediate response of parental discipline (Pavlov would have been impressed!). Anyway, we made it home dusty, sun burnt, and exhausted--All the indications of a great trip!

TONY NEVER STOPS!

Our son Tony has been accepted into the Nursing Program! He will be able to attend in Roosevelt unlike when he went to EMT and then Paramedic school. Mom and I are very proud of Tone for always working to improve himself. His becoming an LPN and then RN will open up more employment options and will greatly increase his income potential.
CONGRATULATIONS SON!

Mom and I are still here and loving life and YOU are a big reason that we do.

Where are you Dad?

Since my Dad seems to be MIA here in blog world I thought I would update you all on what they have been up to...
He and my Mom are busy remodeling the house. Last week it was new tile in the bathrooms, this week it was painting and new carpet. I will go and snap some pictures for you to see and post them soon.
They are also busy getting ready for a little vacation. They are going on a cruise, the lucky ducks. I'm still wondering why they are taking us kids with them. Wouldn't it be more fun with us?
I hope this motivates you to update us every now & then Dad. We miss your humor when you don't post for a while. :)
All right I'm done hacking into your blog...
Sincerely, Sarah

Grandchild #13!

Nick & Annette had a beautiful baby girl, Ryann Jean Ivins. She was born
March 7th at 4:03 a.m. Yea! Another baby for Grandpa and Grandma to spoil!

THIS SIMPLE BADGE ...

...of our son and brother TONY represents literally thousands of miles, years of study, classroom and Internet instruction, clinical work at hospitals, dealing with oppressive bureaucracies, but included awesome support from Jayanne, the kids, and extended family, doctors, and nurses at the Duchesne County Hospital, plus persistance, integrity, and a desire to serve others. So this is not really just a SIMPLE BADGE. You're Awesome 'Tone'!

Ivins Family Home Evening

We started a new tradition in our family. On fast Sunday we try to get together and have a big family home evening with any of the kids that are around. It has been really fun. This month we got together at Sarah's house and learned about David and Goliath. Of course we made Nick be Goliath, and we had two David's, D.J. and Luke. After reading the story from the scriptures we talked about the "goliath's" in our lives that we can overcome with the Lord's help. Some the things we came up with...
-Leukemia
-Fighting with our family
-D.J.'s health issues (we will just leave it at that, trust me you don't want to know)
-Bad movies & Bad Language
And lots more!
Then we all grabbed our rocks (balls of tinfoil) and threw them at our Goliath's (Nick) Needless to say, it was a blast.
